Reflection, Parliament Buildings, Ottawa

The Parliament of Canada sits quite prominently on Parliament Hill overlooking the Ottawa River. But that is only part of its appeal. The Parliament Buildings were built in the Gothic Revival style and are quite striking and impressive themselves.

While I am interested in touring the chambers and especially the library, I find myself caring more about visiting the grounds and finding new angles to photograph the buildings.

This picture was taken from one of my favorite spots. If you walk toward Alexandra Bridge in the direction of Gatineau, there is a wooden viewing platform just before you reach the bridge. It is perfect for viewing the river and Parliament Hill. While it offers a nice view during the day, you will find a spectacular view at night when everything is illuminated. As an added bonus, Parliament Hill reflects nicely in the river.
