Manhattan Night Skyline

This is the view you can enjoy when you visit the “Top of the Rock“, the observation deck in Rockefeller Plaza. Expect large numbers of visitors at any time of day, but especially around sunset. You are not permitted to bring up a tripod to take pictures and frankly, you would have a hard time using it up there with all these people running around. Try using a gorillapod instead. (Make sure you get the right one for your camera.) There are railings on the top observation deck that you can take advantage of. If you tighten your gorillapod to the railing, it’s much safer than simply setting it on the ledge. But you should know how to use it because people will constantly bump into you and if you don’t know what you’re doing, your camera might fall over the ledge.
